Summer47 – Evaluating Depression

There’s something quite extraordinary going on in the world of Dallas,TX rising star Summer47, whose recent mixtape dropped like a bombshell and is completely taking this rap game by storm!

… I hope I get to see the day Summer47 is going to be recognised as the phenomenon that he is, just so I can say that I been with it way before the fame and success! Purely for bragging rights of course… but in all honesty, such skill and creativity can’t go to waste. He will rise for sure and it’s only a matter of time. The reason I say it, is because his latest mixtape “Evaluating Depression” is probably one of the best, most unique and craziest rap/hip-hop mixtapes we’ve heard in a very long time…

Drawing inspiration from his idol Eminem, Summer47’s work is really not too for behind from the God-MC, in fact Summer47 stands in his own lane with his intricate, clever and shocking deliveries, as “Evaluating Depression” reminds me of the work of so many different legendary artists. It has a bit of Nelly’s debut album “Country Grammar”, released in 2000, it also has elements of Eminem’s best work to date “The Slim Shady LP” released in ’99, a bit of Slim Thug and a few more that I can’t quite pinpoint, but all I’m trying to say is that the boy is good… real good.

The mixtape which is consistent throughout, explores various sensitive subjects such as depression, tainted love, aggression and anger but all in such a sharp, satirical way. There’s obviously stand out tracks which you’ll recognise instantly as certified classics such as the dark “OMG I Killed Alyssa”, the heartfelt “On My Way” and “Invisible”, the no non-sense “Coward Ass”, “Outro Before Outro” and many more…  And at 20 cuts deep, the list is endless!

As far as rap music is concerned, Summer47 is an up and coming super artist who clearly has the IQ and artistry of a genius. He knows what he’s doing and where he’s going with this. His beat selection is exquisite, the content is entertaining and the delivery is that of a pro. What more could you ask for? Give it a listen below and tell me I’m lying? I double dare you.

Summer47 – Dumping Anger

Have you ever felt like you wanted to kill your partner? Well… now you know how Texas rapper Summer47 feels about his estranged relationships.

The artist who’s been doing music since the tender age of 9 has kept busy since his last Mixtape “Evaluating Depression” and has just released his latest single “Dumping anger”, which looks into the messed up mind of a complicated female.

Based on Summer47’s real life events, the rapper opens up about his relationship with an on and off girlfriend who sounds a lot like a “trick”, which for those who don’t know, relates to a shady female.

The beat is chilled and emotional, while the rapper spits lyrics such as “You treat me like your past n*** / Like I am a trash n*** / baby girl all you do is dump your anger on me…”, and if you listen to his previous work “Evaluating Depression”, you will quickly realise that summer 47 is cut from a different cloth and is not to be slept on. “Dumping Anger” is a good look on his upcoming album which is already 5 tracks in but still in the making, as the the rapper shows promising potential of stardom if all the right moves are made.

… At this point if he hasn’t done so already, Summer47 should be reaching out to radio hosts and music managers who will help him breakthrough into the mainstream, where he deserves to be. Keep your fingers crossed!
